After She Was Hit By A Car, This Puppy Laid In The Snow For 12 Hours Waiting To Be Rescued

Seven-month-old stray puppy Nutmeg was walking along the side of a snowy road in Alberta, Canada when she was struck by a car, breaking her pelvis. The poor pup tumbled into the ditch below the street and laid in the snow in desperate need of help.

Unfortunately, her body heat melted a hole in the snow where she was curled up. That meant that the longer she laid there, the harder it became for anybody to spot Nutmeg from the road…

After being hit by a car, 7-month-old pup Nutmeg laid in the snow with a broken pelvis, desperately waiting for someone to rescue her. Unfortunately, her body heat melted a hole in the snow, and with each passing hour she became harder to see from the road.

Thankfully, a group of teenagers spotted her and called the authorities, but because she was so obscured by snow it still took rescuers hours to find her. Despite her pain, when Nutmeg spotted them, she began to eagerly wag her tail and tried to move toward them.

They whisked Nutmeg away to an emergency veterinary hospital where the vets were able to set her fractured pelvis and give her some pain medication. Throughout the process, the resilient pup never lost her cheerful, friendly attitude!

Although she’s not quite healed yet, Nutmeg is now under the care of the Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society, and the workers there are confident that in a few months, once she’s completely back to normal, they’ll have no trouble finding her a new forever family!
