Cat Shows Up At Woman's Door, Then She Notices The Unsettling Reality

There’s a saying that cats choose their owners. It seems like some homeless felines know where they want to live and will make their own settle down if given the chance. If a cat chooses you as their new owner, it can be hard to say no. That’s what happened with a woman named Jaelle from Quebec. When Aslan, an orange male cat, appeared at her door, she knew she had to help him — especially once she noticed one crucial detail about him.

Finding His Home

If you’re involved in cat rescue, you’re probably familiar with the feeling that some cats and owners are meant to be together. Though he wasn't picked up at an adoption center, the sentiment was absolutely true for Aslan.

Too Cold

He was a feral male who decided he was tired of living outside in Quebec, Canada. Canadian winters can be brutal for animals who are caught in the rough weather. Aslan decided he’d try to find somewhere safe to shelter himself.

Chance Meeting

While he searched, he accidentally wandered into Jaelle’s backyard. Once she saw the scraggly orange cat scratching at her door, she immediately let him inside. Their first meeting happened to be on Valentine’s Day, so it had to be fate.

Already a Cat Lover

Aslan picked a great person to help him. Jaelle volunteers with a kitten rescue, One Cat at a Time, and already owned a few other cats, so she was a cat lover who had plenty of cat-related experience. Call it intuition — Aslan knew exactly what he needed.
